About Us

Laurie has spent her entire career pursuing excellence in orthopaedic, sports, and spine physical therapy. She has been a certified athletic trainer since 1981 and a licensed physical therapist since 1982.

She founded her private independent outpatient physical therapy practice in 1995 and is committed to providing the very best in comprehensive, holistic, evidence-based musculoskeletal physical therapy.

Laurie was born and raised in East Stroudsburg and graduated from East Stroudsburg High School in 1975. Her experience as a high school and college athlete led to her interest in athletic training and physical therapy. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Lafayette College in 1979, her athletic training certification from the National Athletic Trainers Association in 1981, her Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Duke University in 1982, and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Regis University in 2009. She began her career as a physical therapist/athletic trainer at Purdue University in 1982, working with the legendary William E. “Pinky” Newell, then spent five years at Columbia University. She moved from athletic training to outpatient physical therapy in 1989 and returned home to East Stroudsburg in 1995, when she opened her private practice.

She has been board certified in sports physical therapy since 1994 and in orthopaedic physical therapy since 1997. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, the Pennsylvania Physical Therapy Association, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists, the National Athletic Trainers Association, and the Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers Society.

She has attended many continuing education courses over the years, including multiple courses through the Institute of Physical Art, Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists.

Her hobbies include photography, jazz, and counted cross stitch. She has served in several volunteer positions for Lafayette College, her undergraduate alma mater. She currently has four cats, Smokey, Barney, Ginger, and Graycie.
